sarah vs the world

Not a video game, not a comic, not a band, but an amazing adventure continues...

Ridiculously overdue.

So it's been 18 months without any updates. That is such bad form.  So much has changed.  Most of the world news you all will be fully aware of, but it was certainly great to have Pennsylvania bring it home for Biden Harris.  No idea what the upcoming years will be like, but at least I felt I participated in the change.

I spent the winter of 2020-2021 hanging out at Mom and Dad's house.  We had a great time riding out the winter together.  Worked from there as well.  We had a fun time at the holidays and even made the best of the weather.

Movie Night in the Courtyard

I did a lot of work on my house in the spring.  Upgraded the bike, put a desk/murphy bed in the 3rd bedroom and put a big patio/pavilion in the backyard.  The backyard had a few unexpected issues, but nothing super major.  It was certainly a lovely summer there in the backyard.  Particularly with the fan and lights, we had a few movies out there as well.

In May, I took a job with the Special Olympics USA Games which will be held in Orlando in June of this year.  I rented out my house furnished and moved to a furnished place in Orlando in September.  Just over 100 days to go before the Games.  Managed to convince a few others to join us here eventually so looking forward to their arrivals.
Jumped off the socials for a while.  Not sure if I am going to return actually.  So I better share a bit of Florida thus far.

Thanksgiving visits from Mom, Dad, Sara & Ben - at Universal

For Christmas, I drove to our house in South Carolina to meet Mom & Dad.  We had amazing weather, ate great food and just relaxed.

We dressed up for New Year!
In January, Fran, Kristy and David came to visit primarily to explore at Galaxy's Edge, the Star Wars part of Disney.  We had an awesome time.  Rise of the Resistance is totally worth the wait.  But maybe ask for some strategies before getting in that long line!

David did not go on the Tower of Terror, but Kristy and I did!!
Almost 2 years to the day, I got myself back inside a live music venue.  A few of us headed to the basketball arena here to see Dua Lipa.  It was actually a bit of a surprise how much I missed seeing a show again.  I was mostly there for the production, but it definitely was a good time.  Alt J in a couple weeks will be way more my speed.  I did love this fancy light cube.
I am currently unsure about what I will do next after these games.  Opening Ceremony will be broadcast on ABC (US folks) on Sun 5 June.  I finish my contract sometime in July.  Looking forward to planning the next move.  But I am missing my house and the gang back in Philly.  I have to admit, I am not missing the snow and cold.  I am loving being outdoors so much down here.
Look me up if you are going to be anywhere in the Florida region.  There is room at my place for sure!
Love and miss you all,
Sxo
